† MUSIC NOTES †
Sunday - November 8, 2009
The second reading next Sunday,
from the Letter to the Hebrews,
includes the words
Christ did not enter into a sanctuary made by hands, but heaven itself.
Two musical compositions scheduled for the 10:00 and 11:15 masses
are expressions of this
transcendent nature of the church universal.
The organ prelude will be Olivier Messiaen’s monumental
Vision of the Eternal Church.
The communion motet will be Anton Bruckner’s Locus Iste,
This place was made by God. A priceless mystery, it is beyond reproach.
